Defending The Faith, Saving Sacred Space

VIDEO: The Ends Don’t Justify the Means

You must look at the reason “why” behind All Things New. They say broad things like “to identify opportunities for improvement and renewal within all parishes.” In a Midwestern diocese who was going through program similar to All Things New, the Bishop claimed a scarcity of priests, but then chose to lower the retirement age of all priests from 75 to 70. Then when those priests retired, he restricted their faculties. There is no reason to restrict faculties for a retired priest. Believe me, over 30 years of dealing with the sexual abuse crisis, I have seen lots of examples when they should have restricted faculties of pedophile priests but would not do it! When they restrict the retired priests’ faculties, they do it in one of two ways: 1) They either outright restrict them and say “You cannot say a public mass.” -or- 2) They tell the retire priest, “You can say a public mass but since you are retired, you must get written permission from the Archbishop to say any mass.” If their brother priest is sick or something comes up quickly, they cannot get permission. They use the pocket veto to ignore any requests that are put in writing. This same Bishop, after he created this scarcity of priests by forced early retirement, rejected offers from 3 surrounding dioceses who had extra priests and were willing to send priests to him. Some of the local Catholic groups got missionary priests who were willing to come to the diocese, but the Bishop refused. It is a modernist tactic to say it is a scarcity of priest, but then they do everything possible to create the scarcity of priests.

People are seeking the truth. We are built for Truth. We all have an internal radar when there is a lack of honesty. When the Archdiocesan leaders refuse to have a dialogue at all about the closures and changes happening now, then you know they don’t want to be up front and honest about their…

Our money is going to anti-Catholic groups through the Archdiocese and its Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), and many other ways. Send emails to Fr. Chris Martin at chrismartin@archstl.org or Marie Kenyon at mariekenyon@archstl.org and ask them to respond specifically to the decade-long investigation into the CCHD and how they continue to support anti-Catholic…
