Today, Thursday, February 2nd, we are gathering after 12 Noon Mass at the Cathedral Basilica to pray for our priests, our Archbishop, and that All Things New be truly guided by the Holy Spirit.
February 2nd is not only the Feast of the Presentation (Candlemas) but also the Feast Day of Our Lady of Good Success of the Purification. If you would like to know more about this church-approved apparition and Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres (who is incorruptible along with 9 other nuns in the cloister), here are 3 videos: 1) Fr. Jim Blount, SOLT (10 minutes); 2) Fr. Adam Purdy (20 minutes); 3) Fr. Isaac Mary Relyea (80 minutes).
Canon Law specifically mentions catechizing the faithful while consulting with them, before considering mergers/closures of parishes. This video below speaks of the same need for Catechesis. Note at minute 12 the mention of the 20th Century, at minute 15 the “call to action,” and towards the end of the video the “good news.”
