Video: Why won’t you simply pilot one Pastorate?

We want to follow ALL of canon law and church teaching. We pray for our Archdiocesan leaders. Look at question #6 below: Why won’t you simply pilot one of these “pastorate” merger programs at one group of parishes? You have the time. We are not short of priests currently. Then we can see how effective this idea is before we push it onto the entire Archdiocese. Surgeons understand they can do harm. That is why they take the oath of “First do no harm.” In other dioceses where these plans have been used, it has been like a spiritual Nagasaki. We should will the good of the other. With the new draft models, for example, if you look at the Planning Areas located outside of the immediate St. Louis metropolitan area, those Planning Areas are riddled with mergers/closures and keep ZERO “stand alone” parishes, yet some Planning Areas within the St. Louis metro have a high number of parishes that remain “stand alone” and so are not really affected by All Things New. We have noticed there is a high correlation of priests who serve on the College of Consultors and Presbyteral Council whose parishes will remain “stand alone.”
